What are the precautions for dangerous goods packaging?

What,are,the,precautions,for,d

The following points shall be noted for the packaging requirements of dangerous goods:

1. Whether the packaging structure is reasonable, has a certain strength, and whether the protective performance is good. Whether the material, type, specification, method and single piece mass (weight) of the package are suitable for the nature and purpose of the dangerous goods to facilitate loading, unloading, transportation and storage.

2. Whether the structure and sealing form of the package can withstand various operation risks under normal transportation conditions, and there shall be no leakage (scattering) due to changes in temperature, humidity or pressure. Harmful hazardous substances are not allowed to adhere to the package surface.

3. Whether there is inner coating or protective treatment on the part directly in contact with the contents of the package, and whether the packaging material reacts with the contents to form dangerous products or weaken the packaging strength. Whether the content container is fixed.

4. Whether the container containing liquid can withstand the internal pressure generated under normal transportation conditions. Whether there is enough expansion margin (reserved volume) during filling, and whether it can ensure that the filled liquid will not completely fill the container at the temperature of 55 ℃ unless otherwise specified.

5. Whether the package seal adopts tight seal, liquid seal or air tight seal according to the nature of the contents.

6. When containing substances that need to be soaked or added with stabilizer, whether the closed form of the container can effectively ensure that the percentage of liquid (water, solvent and stabilizer) in the container is kept within the specified range during storage and transportation.

7. For the package with pressure reducing device, whether the design and installation of exhaust hole can prevent the leakage of internal contents and the entry of external impurities, and the amount of discharged gas shall not cause danger and pollute the environment.

8. Whether the inner container and outer packaging of the composite packaging fit closely, and whether the outer packaging has protrusions that scratch the inner container.

Identification of additional hazards and harmful factors in packages containing explosives

1. Whether the closed form of the container containing liquid explosives has double protection against leakage;

2. Whether iron nails and other metal parts without protective coatings can penetrate the outer packaging except that the inner packaging can fully prevent explosives from contacting metal objects;

3. Whether the steel drum, metal drum or metal lined packing box with double crimping joint can prevent explosives from entering the gap. Whether the closure device of steel drum or aluminum drum has appropriate gasket;

4. The explosive substances and articles in the package, including the inner container, must be padded tightly and shall not move dangerously during transportation.

5. For explosives containing electric initiating devices sensitive to external electromagnetic radiation, the packaging shall have the function of preventing the contents from being affected by external electromagnetic radiation sources.

Due to the particularity of dangerous goods, there are many matters needing attention in the relevant industries engaged in dangerous chemicals. Usually we think it is a small matter when we hear about packaging, but it is definitely not the case for dangerous goods. The mismatch of packaging can easily lead to serious consequences. You must not be careless!
